Important Safety Notice: Triton Safeguard+ Electric Shower

Tuesday, 29 January 2019

The Office of Fair Trading is making the public aware of an important safety notice concerning Triton Safeguard+ Electric Showers.

Triton has become aware that in a very small number of cases, the Safeguard+ may develop a fault which could lead to overheating and to a potential risk of electric shock or fire.

If your shower unit is showing any signs of discolouration, you must stop using it immediately and contact Triton.

How to check the model / serial number

Affected units start with the product code CSGP0 and have a date code stamp between 05/14 (May 2014) to 12/16 (December 2016). This date code is on the product rating label located on the underside of the product.

What should I do if my shower is affected?

  • If you have an affected shower, contact Triton for details of how a modification will be made, completely free of charge.
  • Any overheating is gradual and is noticeable with a distinct overheating smell.
  • You should check the casing top to see if there are any signs of discolouration. If there are none, then you can continue to use the shower.

Triton can be contacted on free phone +44 800 0154 145.

No other Triton shower is affected.
