The Isle of Man covers 141,440 acres of which 107,210 (75%) are utilised for agriculture and supported by the Agricultural Development Scheme. The DEFA Website holds data for holding size, Land Usage, Cattle Births, Applications, Import and Export.

The data will be updated regularly, but will always be 3 months behind due to the timescales involved in calf birth registrations. (Stats provided from 2004. From 01 January 2014, as part of the BVD Control Strategy, calves born dead have to be registered, this was not the case previously).

Trees in the Isle of Man are protected under The Tree Preservation Act 1993. DEFA administers the Act and its Tree Protection Policy describes how it will fulfil its statutory duty. Licences to undertake restricted work are obtained by making an application to DEFA under Section 5 of the legislation. DEFA has committed to publish, on a monthly basis, limited details of all the licences it issues under this legislation.

The Agriculture and Lands Directorate of DEFA reviews planning applications in accordance with Section 3 of its Tree Protection Policy. The following data shows which planning applications have been reviewed and highlights which applications the Directorate commented on.
