The final phase of regeneration work in Port Erin gets under way on Monday 8th January.
Work will involve completing paving around the railway station and widening the platform.
Work is expected to take 10 weeks and will be confined to the pavement, so there will be no disruption to motorists or loss of parking in Station Road.
The work will take place while the Isle of Man Steam Railway is not running and will complement track realignment, carried out recently by Isle of Man Public Transport.
The Isle of Man Government has carried out regeneration work in towns and villages to enhance the Island’s reputation as a special place to live, work and visit.
Infrastructure Minister Ray Harmer MHK said:
‘On completion of this work, the centre of Port Erin will be more inviting for residents and its many visitors and this will hopefully boost trade.
‘I realise that there has been disruption to people and businesses while the regeneration works have been undertaken and I thank everyone for their patience while we make these final improvements on behalf of the local regeneration committee.’
