The award winning team at the Isle of Man Aircraft Registry (IOMAR) have registered the 900th aircraft since the Registry commenced operations on 1st May 2007.
Laurence Skelly, Minister for the Department of Economic Development, commented:

Leonard Singer, Member of the Department with responsibility for the Aircraft Registry, added:
‘The Isle of Man Aircraft Registry’s continued strong growth reflects the tremendous amount of hard work made by the Registry’s team to continually develop and improve the services offered to clients. It is fantastic to pause to recognise the team’s achievements.’
This announcement follows two years’ of enhancement for IOMAR, which has included the introduction of a new highly efficient IT support system, together with online services and updates to aviation legislation to incorporate the requirements of International Civil Aviation Organisation Annex 6 Part II Section 3. These legislative updates incorporate the latest international requirements governing the operation of large and turbojet aeroplanes into Isle of Man law.

‘The success of IOMAR is unprecedented and the Registry has grown to become the sixth largest private and corporate aircraft registry in the world.
’Our continued efforts to further develop the Registry are designed to ensure that IOMAR supports a sustainable long term future for the highly successful Isle of Man Business Aviation sector. The fact that we have registered our 900th aircraft this week, a Dassault Falcon 900EX, and continue to grow at a healthy rate, regardless of tough trading conditions and global financial uncertainty, is the strongest possible endorsement that the Isle of Man business model is robust and highly effective.

The Aircraft Registry also achieved another milestone in September 2016 with the issue of the 10,000th initial Flight Crew Licence validation.
Further developments to IOMAR are planned into 2017 including:
- Additional online services for clients.
- Facilitation of the extension of the Cape Town Convention to the Isle of Man in Spring 2017.
- Continued pro-active support for M-registered, European-based clients striving for compliance with the European aviation regulatory suite.
