Chief Constable Gary Roberts was appointed on 1 January 2013 and heads a force of 221 officers, around 65 support staff and a number of Special Constables and Community Volunteers. Mr Roberts is the first Chief Constable for the Island who has served solely as an Isle of Man officer for all his service.

The mission statement of the Isle of Man Constabulary is Keeping People Safe. Over recent years the force has enjoyed unprecedented success in terms of crime reduction and public satisfaction in the Island's policing. The Isle of Man continues to be one of the safest communities in the British Isles. In 2012, the force became the first police force anywhere to achieve Investors In People Gold Standard and then went on to achieve Champion status in 2015.

The current Constabulary budget is around £12 million.
