The Senior Nurse and Midwifery Strategy Group is a strategic nursing forum, established to lead on all aspects of nursing and midwifery at Noble's Hospital. It is the forum responsible for the implementation and monitoring of high standards of nursing and midwifery care.
The Group meets every 6 to 8 weeks. The Group comprises the Senior Nurses from each of the Divisions, namely Surgery, Medicine and Women, Children and Outpatients, as well as those from the Patient Safety and Governance Directorate, the Patient Safety and Governance Manager, and the Head of Midwifery. The Group is chaired by the Chief Nurse.
Items for discussion on the Agenda include Standing Items such as new Policies and Procedures for dissemination, feedback from all Divisions and an analysis of each Division's Care Indicators / Metrics performance. Releasing Time to Care (Productive Ward) updates are also given. In addition to the sharing of information, the Senior Nurse and Midwifery Strategy Group is also a forum in which Senior Nurses can discuss matters of concern within their own Division, share experience and advice, and agree new developments and direction.
Agreed strategies and actions are communicated to Divisions and the nursing and midwifery workforce from Senior Nurses, via Ward Sisters. Important developments, changes in Policy etc, are communicated directly by the Director of Nursing, Midwifery and Therapies at this strategic group.
