Safer Food Better Business Workshops 2024

About the workshops

The Environmental Health Team intend to host a number of workshop style events in early 2024 with the aim of providing small food businesses with guidance and assistance on how to complete a Safer Food Better Business (SFBB) pack.

The workshops will outline what is included in an SFBB pack, how to complete it and how you can use the pack to both improve your business and protect your reputation.

Why the workshops are being hosted

All food business operators must have written details of what they do within their business to ensure the food that they make and sell is safe to eat. SFBB packs can help you to meet this legal requirement.

It is hoped that the Isle of Man will soon introduce a Food Hygiene Rating Scheme similar to the one operating in England. Completing and implementing an SFBB pack contributes to you being able to attain the highest rating under the scheme.

Who the workshops are for

The workshops are aimed at small catering businesses such as restaurants, cafes, takeaways and mobile food premises.

Where and when the workshops are taking place

The dates, times and locations will be confirmed.

Free of charge

The workshops are free to attend.

Spaces are limited and in order that we can accommodate as many businesses as possible, we are restricting places to 2 people per business. If you feel that you need more than 2 places, please contact us and we can add any additional names to a waiting list.

Previous training

Whilst not essential, it would be beneficial to have previously completed formal food hygiene training such as the CIEH Level 2 Food Safety in Catering course.

Further information and food safety coaching videos are also available online.

Bring your own pack

To get the most out of the workshop, attendees are asked to bring along their own businesses SFBB pack. If you do not already have a pack they can be downloaded and printed from the Food Standards Agency website or hard copies can purchased from various outlets online.
