Forestry, Amenity & Lands forms part of the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture (DEFA). DEFA is a Controller for the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation (Isle of Man) Order 2018.

The Directorate may use your information to:
- Process applications and take payments
- Issue licences and permits
- Assess tenders
- Respond to requests for advice or information
- Verify contact details and credentials
- Keep a record of conversations
- Comply with its statutory function across its various instruments of legislation for the determination of applications it handles and effect any enforcement action if and where required.
- Prevent and detect crime including fraud, money laundering, identity theft and other criminal offences
The Directorate has a statutory obligation to assume the information provided is accurate, compile registers and ensure compliance with any approvals issued.

- Isle of Man Government Departments, Boards and Offices including Attorney General’s Chambers and Treasury
- Consultant and Procurement Portal Managers

The security of your information is very important to us and we take it very seriously. We will:
- Keep your information safe and secure in compliance with its information security policy
- Only use and disclose your information as detailed in this guide, where necessary
- Retain the information for no longer than necessary and your information will be permanently deleted once the retention timeframes have been reached

You have a right to access your personal data to ensure that it is accurate, and to request that it is rectified, blocked, erased or destroyed if it is inaccurate;
