Winter Bathing Water Monitoring 2022/23

Winter bathing water sampling is being undertaken this season between October 2022 and April 2023.

Samples will be collected on a monthly basis by Environmental Protection Officers at designated bathing waters and locations where designation is being discussed for the 2023 bathing season. The winter sampling locations are:

  • Bay ny Carrickey
  • Castletown
  • Douglas Central
  • Glen Wyllin
  • Port Erin
  • Port St Mary
  • South Ramsey

Sampling will be weather dependent and therefore sampling weeks have been scheduled instead of a specific day. The sampling day will be determined and agreed with the Government Analyst who undertake the analysis a couple of days before. There may be some months where samples cannot be collected due to adverse weather as officer safety cannot be compromised to collect the data. Where samples cannot be collected this will be reported in the graphs below.

Proposed sampling weeks:

  • 14 November
  • 5 December
  • 9 January
  • 6 February
  • 13 March
  • 10 April
