Varied and dynamic programme announced for ISLEXPO 2018

The programme for ISLEXPO 2018 is now live with a full schedule of keynote speakers, workshops, live pitching, funding advice and pop-up talks. The day will culminate with a celebration of live music from local musicians, artisan food and drink, and opportunities for networking.

Hosted by the Department for Enterprise, the free conference takes place at the Villa Marina on Wednesday 16th May with a varied and inclusive one-day programme for businesses of all sizes and sectors to find inspiration and advice for every stage of their business journey.

Daphne Caine MHK, Member with responsibility for Creative Industries, commented:

‘I’m delighted to see the programme for this year’s ISLEXPO 2018 carrying a strong focus on creative industries and the great value this sector brings to our community. From local success stories to the emphasis on small business start-ups, the local creative sector will find plenty to assist and encourage their business journey.’

Centred on the theme of ‘Locate’, ISLEXPO 2018 will position the Isle of Man as a unique business destination with a focus on the highlights and challenges facing local and locating businesses. This includes a talk and workshop on people management and the latest trends in digital recruitment from Global HR Expert Matt Alder.

Matt is a renowned strategic recruitment consultant with 20 years’ experience of working with FTSE and Fortune 100 companies and will be sharing his invaluable advice and top tips for securing leading talent with Island-based businesses at ISLEXPO.

Kate Brier, Co-Founder of Revel – the events and sponsorship agency organising ISLEXPO – said:

‘The 2018 programme has been designed to celebrate the Island as a unique location to live and work. Speakers and workshops have been selected to inspire and inform local and off-Island businesses. The event has been structured to encourage new connections for all in attendance. Once again, it will be a lively and inclusive conferencing experience.’

The conference will close with a post-5pm feature in the popular Garden Hub and Tipis with live music, artisan food and drink, pop-up talks and a further chance to network.
