Following on from the registration of the Isle of Man Aircraft Registry’s 500th aircraft, a Bombardier Global 5000, the Island’s Director of Civil Aviation, Hartley Elder, has made a presentation to a representative of the aircraft’s owners, Jana Aviation Limited, during a recent visit to Beirut at the facility of Executive Aircraft Services.
The specially commissioned crystal rectangle, which contains a laser-etched, 3D high-definition image of a Bombardier Global 5000, was presented to Mohammed Safadi of Jana Aviation by Hartley Elder. The detail in the etching also includes the aircraft’s registration – M-SEAS - on the side of the engines.
Isle of Man Director of Civil Aviation, Hartley Elder, commented:
'The global nature of our client base means that this presentation was a rare, but invaluable, opportunity to meet the owners of one of our fleet in order to recognise this significant achievement. The Aircraft Registry has existed for a little over 5 years and in that time the whole team, both present and past, have exceeded every expectation by working extremely hard to register the first 500 aircraft.'
M-SEAS has now become the 96th Bombardier model to join the Isle of Man’s register.
The Isle of Man’s political Member with responsibility for the Aircraft Registry, Alex Downie OBE MLC added:
'M-SEAS is an excellent example of the high quality private and corporate jets that are on our register and it is therefore highly appropriate that it was a brand new Bombardier Global 5000, direct from the factory at Dorval, Montreal, Canada, that was our 500th aircraft. This milestone has provided us with excellent opportunities to highlight the many benefits of using the Isle of Man Aircraft Registry.'
The Isle of Man has established itself as an important centre for global aviation business and as well as registration of private and corporate jets, the Isle of Man is also home to many firms dealing with aircraft mortgages for foreign banks and the management of new structures to own and manage ‘M’-registered aircraft.
