Visiting the Public Record Office

The Public Record Office is 2.5 miles outside Douglas on the Spring Valley Industrial Estate, Unit 40A. There is free parking available and it is close to bus route 21B. For further details of public transport, please visit the Bus and Rail website.

We are open to the public on:

  • Thursday 9:30am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm
  • Friday 9:30am to 1pm and 2pm to 4:30pm

To search our catalogued collections and view selected digital records, please visit our online catalogue. Please note that work on cataloguing records is ongoing and the information provided in our online catalogues only covers a small proportion of our holdings.

We recommend that you contact us in advance of a visit to check whether we have the records you wish to consult and to make an appointment to visit. Also, if you are not able to visit on a Thursday or Friday, please contact us as we may be able to arrange an appointment at other times. For more information about visiting, including identification requirements, please read the Isle of Man Public Record Office Service Guide

Further information concerning our services, including copying records, is available to download. Further information about our holdings is on the Records page.
