Breakfast Club for Isle of Man Sport Coaches

Tuesday, 25 September 2018

Now established as a regular feature in the coaching calendar, the Isle of Man Sport Coaches’ Forum will host its 6th Breakfast Club on Sunday 7 October, starting at 8am.

Taking place at the Isle of Man Sport Institute by the NSC Athletics Track, the Forum welcomes guest coach Jon Whiting, the man behind the Isle of Man Men's Hockey team.

Jon will share his experiences of his time spent in the England Hockey Advanced Coach Programme over the last two years. Having recently graduated from the scheme Jon has had opportunities to put his new knowledge into practice with the men’s national team, who have come back victorious from the regional inter-county cup earlier this year, gaining promotion in the process.

Jon will also give valuable coaching insights relevant to any coach from any sport, whether individual or team, and discuss the impact the advanced programme has had on him and the players he coaches.

As usual a free breakfast will be provided, with the session finished by 9.30am.

The breakfast club is an opportunity for sports coaches to meet up and share ideas and experiences in coaching to help improve practice.  Previous events have welcomed guests including boxing coach John Cain and motorsport’s Martin Bullock.

To book a place at the event, email trevor.christian@gov.im to be added to the guest list.  For more information call Trevor on 688590.
