Abortion Report
This is an annual report summarising the data from notifications to Public Health of all abortions carried out in the Isle of Man.
Where possible, comparisons are made between the Isle of Man, Jersey, and England and Wales in order to benchmark the Isle of Man against other jurisdictions. The purpose of the report is to ensure that any anomalies or changes in trends are identified and investigated to help inform the development of future policies and abortion services locally.
The 2020 & 2021 covers this period because 2020 was the first complete calendar year after the Isle of Man Abortion Reform Act 2019 was introduced, so this year was used as a starting point to ensure that data is directly comparable. In future years, 3-year trend analyses will be included in order to observe longer-term trends.
