Opportunity to play a key role in public life

Monday, 29 April 2013

An opportunity has arisen to play a key role in the management and delivery of one of the Isle of Man’s essential services.

The Council of Ministers is currently seeking applications for appointment to the Isle of Man Water and Sewerage Authority. The Authority is responsible for the good quality of the Island’s water supply, the maintenance and development of the sewerage infrastructure, and for helping to mitigate the impact of flooding.

Community spirited individuals who are interested in making an important contribution to public life in the Isle of Man are being encouraged to apply. People from all backgrounds and walks of life are considered for public appointments in order to provide ideas and advice from different perspectives.

Chief Minister Allan Bell MHK said:

‘We greatly value the contribution made by the people who sit on our public bodies. They can provide a fresh outlook on important issues and use their skills, knowledge, experience and commonsense to influence policy and decisions that affect people’s lives.’

An information pack containing details of the knowledge and skills required for the post, along with an application form, is available for download.

Application forms can be completed and submitted electronically via the webpage. Printed versions of the information pack and application form are available from the Chief Secretary’s Office, Bucks Road, Douglas, IM1 3PN, tel: 01624 685711 or email publicappointments@cso.gov.im

The closing date for applications is Friday 10 May 2013 at 5pm.
