Isle of Man Business Confidence Survey

The IOM Business Confidence Survey is a survey of local employers, intended to gauge current business activity, optimism, planning, staffing and investment for all sectors of the domestic economy.

The IOM Business Confidence Survey can be completed online but paper copies are also available on request from the Economic Affairs Division, Cabinet Office. Please call 685743 or email economics@gov.im to request a paper copy. The deadline for submission in November 26 2017.

Business surveys provide essential information for economic monitoring, short-term forecasting and economic research. Business confidence surveys are widely used to detect turning points in the economic cycle. The IOM Business Confidence Survey is designed to complement official economic statistics, which are often available on delayed cycles.

Commissioned by the Cabinet Office, the IOM Business Confidence Survey is voluntary for employers and business owners, although participation is greatly appreciated and strongly encouraged.

Anonymized results will be reported in early 2018, aggregated by business size and sector. The survey will be repeated on an annual basis in future.
