Health & Care Transformation

Programme update

As of October 2022, the Undertake Needs Assessment and the Data and Business Intelligence projects have transferred to Public Health and Manx Care respectively. This was approved by the Programme’s Officer and Political Boards, with both projects now having structures and plans in place ready to be delivered by the relevant teams.

The Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) trial has also been extended to March 2023, and continues to undertake call outs, which are monitored and reviewed each time.

The Implement External Quality Regulation project is continuing to support the DHSC to coordinate inspections, working in conjunction with Manx Care and the Care Quality Commission (CQC). CQC is carrying out independent inspections of the majority of health and care services delivered or commissioned by Manx Care, and the reports produced to date are available online

As of September 2022, two of the Health and Social Care Transformation projects (the Care Pathways and Service Delivery project and the Primary Care at Scale projects) have been paused until 1 April 2023, as approved by the Council of Ministers. There will be no impact to the delivery of the other projects during this time, and the reallocation of resource should improve service delivery in other areas, providing a positive direct impact to patients.
