North American Trail

raccoon Wetlands in North America, from the Everglades to the Rockies, provided the key and the spur to the exploration and development of that continent. Whilst most of the prize fur-bearers live on - beavers and otters, raccoon and fishers - the wetlands are diminishing, reclaimed for agriculture or building land, and their waters used for irrigation or drinking water reservoirs.

Along our Trail, you can see Canadian otters, trumpeter swans and raccoons.
