Curraghs Wildlife Park

European Marsh

white stork

Most of the great European marshes have, like the Fens, been drained long ago. Only fragments remain providing habitat for some of our rarest wildlife. Elsewhere they are used for grazing domestic animals or growing crops, made possible by extensive drainage schemes

The Wildlife Park's marsh habitat is home to European otters, lynx, Siberian chipmunk, white storks, eagle owls and little owls.
