white pelican The wild landscape of Africa is gradually becoming tamed but some protected areas, particularly along the great rivers of East Africa, are helping to protect the characteristic wildlife of the seasonally flooded plains where flocks of birds and herds of animals congregate to graze the lush pasture

Representative species to be seen in this part of the Curraghs Wildlife Park are; grivet monkey, marsh mongoose, white pelican, pink-backed pelican, crowned crane, egyptian goose and other species of waterfowl.
