Planned and Current Works
CURRENT WORKS:
Glen Maye Water Treatment Works
The Isle of Man Water Authority wishes to inform residents in the Glen Maye to Ballacallin areas of the Island that preparation work is being carried out on the mains in the locality. The work being carried out will ultimately see residents of Peel, Patrick, Glen Maye, Dalby and the surrounding area supplied with treated water from Sulby Water Treatment Works and the closure of Glen Maye Water Treatment Works. This will be end of an era with Glen Maye Water Treatment plant being the last old single stage treatment plant to close. All of our customers are now supplied with water from the new multi stage water treatment plants built at Douglas and Sulby.
These works may cause disturbances in the mains and there is risk of discoloured water during this period.
We would ask for the forbearance and patience of our customers during this essential work. As always, the Authority, along with its contractors, will endeavour to keep disruption and inconvenience to a minimum.
If customers do experience discoloured water they are asked to run their cold taps until their water runs clear, unless we advise otherwise. If customers have any serious concerns regarding their water supplies while these changes are being carried out, they should contact our Customer Helpline on 695999 for assistance.
PLANNED WORKS:
Douglas and Onchan Supply:
The Laxey Phase 1 scheme which entails a new main from Hillberry Road to the top of Whitebridge Hill, Onchan and a new main along Whitebridge Road.
Work on the next phase is anticipated to commence within the next two to three months. We are continuing to analyse the best routes and the Authority’s strategy for replacement options.
This area of the website is regularly updated with details of current and planned work but should you have any specific queries please do not hesitate to contact The Isle of Man Water Authority's customer services team on 695949.
