Raw water project

Douglas Raw Water Main Contract was awarded to Island Drainage & Groundwork who commenced on site in January 2006. The total amount of pipe laid for the whole scheme is 7.6km of 600mm diameter, ductile iron.

The route for the gravity fed main was selected after taking into account environmental, engineering, hydraulic and cost implications. All work is being undertaken to comply with the Code of Practice for Mains laying.
