ISD’s Business Team is responsible for:

• Delivery of better, faster and cheaper Government to Citizen services that take advantage of key emerging and market-leading technologies.
• Focusing on business change. The Jupiter programme is seeking to encourage joined-up processes and events, in a way which makes doing business with Government both convenient and intuitive, wherever and whenever required.
• Ensuring that information is managed in a demonstrably secure manner, conforming to international standards of good practice.
• Managing the support and maintenance of over 130 business applications
• Managing IoMG’s IT Governance model to ensure a consistent decision-gate based approach across Government to any ICT initiatives, from inception through to benefit delivery, with a clear focus on risk management.

ISD provides a complete range of information technology services to all Government Departments, Statutory Boards and Agencies from high level strategy through to system procurement, operations and support including:

• Development and implementation of a Government IT strategy which provides a robust and appropriate baseline on which Departments can develop business related information systems strategies.
• Identifying and initiating strategic projects aimed at maintaining a corporate approach across Government taking advantage of the continual development of information technology.
• Working in partnership with departments to:
  • develop departmental IT Strategies
  • carry out Service Investigations and Business Case analysis
  • manage the complete project lifecycle of approved projects
• Liaising with appropriate authorities in other jurisdictions to ensure compliance with standards and policies in relation to interconnectivity and data exchange.
