Earnings 2009
AVERAGE PAY UP 0.5%
The Treasury’s annual Earnings Survey has found that average pay went up by 0.5% to £572 per week in June 2009.
Half of full-time employees earned more than £496 per week and the middle half earned between £383 per week and £673 per week. On average full-time employees worked 37.8 hours per week. Average earnings in the Island were 2.7% less than in the United Kingdom.
Note to Editors
The survey is of gross earnings before deductions of income tax and national insurance. Gross earnings include overtime, shift premia and payment by results in addition to ‘basic’ pay.
