The Event Safety Advisory Group will be holding an educational evening on Monday 4th March at 6pm at St Ninian’s High School, Douglas.

The Event Safety Advisory Group is a cross Government body that supports the planning and running of public events through the provision of advice and good practice guidelines for event organisers. The Group also operates an event notification system which provides emergency services, enforcement bodies and managers of the Islands infrastructure with information on forthcoming events.

The educational evening is free of charge and is open to all persons who have an interest in event planning and the different aspects of holding an event. Whether your planned event is a car boot sale or an agricultural show the evening will provide good proportionate advice on running a safe event.

This will be the fourth such event that the Group have held and will refresh and update any previous attendee’s skills as well as providing information and advice to persons new to organising events.

Attendees will be asked to choose three out of the seven workshops available and will also be provided with the opportunity to meet members of the Events Safety Advisory Group and meet other event organisers in an informal setting.

For further details please email eventsafetyy@gov.im or telephone 686658.
