Welcome to the Isle of Man

Ramsey

Ramsey is the second largest town in the Island, set on the coast with a magnificent backdrop of the North Barrule hills. There's an attractive working harbour spanned by a Victorian Swing Bridge and open expanses of sand / shingle beach to the north and south.Ramsey also has the Mooragh Park, the 'jewel' of the town. This pristine facility includes 40 acres of gardens, a fine boating lake, two lakeside cafeterias, a bowling green, crazy golf and children's playground.

For thrillseekers, The Venture Centre to the south of Ramsey offers a wide range of outdoor pursuits including canoeing, abseiling and archery. If dangling from a cliff is not your thing, Ramsey Golf Club with its immaculately maintained fairways and breathtaking views offers a challenge to all golfers or Grove House in the north of the town is a well preserved Victorian villa containing many original furnishings and fittings.

The town centre has a good range of mostly independent shops, cafes and pubs. Along with a wide range of shops selling everything from exotic cheeses to couture dresses, a Farmers Market is held in Ramsey every Saturday morning.

Reaching Ramsey is a pleasure in itself. From Douglas you can take the Manx Electric Railway via Laxey, passing through stunning countryside, or drive along the famous T.T. mountain road which offers splendid mountain views.
