Overview

Measuring approximately 33 miles long and 13 miles wide, visitors will be surprised how easy it is to explore either by foot, coach, a comprehensive scheduled bus service or aboard our vintage Steam and Electric railways.

The Island is easily accessible with daily flights from many national and regional airports throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland and daily scheduled ferry services from Heysham and Liverpool. Visitors can be on the Island within 30 minutes by air or 3½ hours by sea from Heysham, if travelling with the coach, or in 2 ½ hours from Liverpool, travelling on the fast craft. In the summer months there are also regular sailings from Dublin and Belfast.
