The main ethos of Sports Coach UK, is to develop the profession of coaching by enabling education and the continuing professional development of coaches at all levels. MSR, working alongside Sports Coach UK, fully embrace this philosophy and are committed to delivering a comprehensive coach education programme on the Island. Looking to become an MSR Coach?

The Sports Development Unit request that all new coaches must fulfill the following criteria:

  1. Undergo a successful Police or CRB Check.
  2. Hold an up-to-date National Governing Body Recognised Qualification (e.g. Level 1 Football).
  3. Attend a Safeguarding & Protecting children workshop
  4. Attend an Equity in your Coaching workshop
  5. Attend an Emergency First Aid course.
  6. Attend a Sports Development Unit Coach Induction evening.

If you do not already have a CRB check, Manx Sport & Recreation can carryout the Police Check on your behalf. For further details on when the next Sports Coach UK workshops and Emergency First Aid Courses are being run on-Island, please refer to the Future Training Opportunities page.
