Outdoor Facilities

The athletics stadium has a 400 metre, 6 lane (8 lane straight) fully floodlit synthetic running track overviewed by a 500 seat grandstand. The track has a current UK Athletics Certificate and the equipment provided is to International standards, including a 11 metre hammer/discus cage.

Alongside the stadium is a full size (7,000 sq. metres) floodlit synthetic pitch, renewed by AstroTurf in 2002 with a water based playing surface.

Completing the outdoor facilities is an 800 metres fully lit tarmac raceway, which forms the perimeter of the outdoor provision and provides a competition and training facility for Cycling Criterium Racing, Racewalkers and Road Runners.

The outdoor facilities are serviced by six group/team changing rooms with two communal shower areas, plus two en suite changing rooms for match officials. Provision for individual competitors consists of separate men and ladies changing areas equipped with lockers, toilets and showers.
