How to consult records in the Isle of Man Public Record Office
See records for information on the records here and how to find others you might need.
Most records we hold are being assessed and listed and are not yet available under the Public Records Act. Access is usually still possible but, to make the best use of your time, it is important to contact us in advance of a visit to ensure that all necessary arrangements are in place.
Our opening days are currently revised to Thursdays 9.30 to 1.00 and 2.00 to 5.00 and Fridays 9.30 to 1.00 and 2.00 to 4.30, by appointment. This is to enable us to progress work for record holders and we apologise for any inconvenience caused - please contact us to see if alternative access can be arranged if necessary.
The Public Record Office is 2.5 miles outside Douglas. There is free parking and it is close to bus routes 4, 4A and 4B, for further details see Bus Timetable Here.
