Most records we hold are being assessed and listed and are not yet available under the Public Records Act. Access is usually still possible but, to make the best use of your time, it is advisable to contact us in advance of a visit to ensure that all necessary arrangements are in place.
Our opening days are currently revised to Thursdays 9.30 to 1.00 and 2.00 to 5.00 and Fridays 9.30 to 1.00 and 2.00 to 4.30, by appointment. This is to enable us to progress work for record holders and we apologise for any inconvenience caused - please contact us to see if alternative access can be arranged if necessary.
The Public Record Office is 2.5 miles outside Douglas. There is free parking and it is on bus routes 9X and 14 and close to routes 4, 4A and 4B.
