The Registries Section
The Registries Section consists of the Civil Registry, the Deeds & Probate Registry and the Land Registry. Each of these is a separate entity with its own key business function within the General Registry. The Registries Section has a commitment to improve customer service and to extend the use of information technology in a way that will effectively and efficiently contribute to the section's service and performance. Consequently the computerised deeds index will be upgraded. All records have been computerised from 1989. Records prior to this date will also be computerised, when time allows. In addition, for the first time, a probate index is available on computer.
Hours of Business - Civil Registry
*Additional note: Due to requirements and in order to maximise the service provisions to customers, the Civil Registry administers an appointment system. To make an appointment please telephone 01624 687039.
Hours of Business - Land Registry (incorporating the Deeds & Probate Registry)
Please Note: On Thursday 19 and Friday 20 March 2015, Isle of Man Government Technology Services (GTS) will be undertaking essential work within the Isle of Man Government data centre and as a consequence, the Computerised Land Registration System (CLaRE) will be unavailable on those dates. The Land, Deeds and Probate Registries will remain open and all normal services will be maintained within the Deeds and Probate Registries. Land Registry applications submitted during the period will, as usual, be acknowledged with a till receipt confirming the fees paid and the priority of the application will be preserved. It will not be possible to issue a formal Land Registry application receipt until after the successful completion of the work by GTS. We regret that during this time searching of the Index Map, Title Searches and the production of Office Copies and Survey Map extracts will not be available. Please note that extracts from the Survey Map will still be available from the Mapping Service of the Department of Infrastructure at Murray House, Mount Havelock.
