Employee Relations & Policy

The Employee Relations & Policy Division provides advice and secretarial support to the Civil Service Commission. It also supports the Commission in the collective bargaining forum of the Isle of Man Civil Service Joint Negotiating Committee; a body consisting of equal representation from the Commission and the Isle of Man Government Officer's Association branch of the trade union Prospect, which negotiates terms and conditions of service for the Civil Service.

The Employee Relations & Policy Division also provides a full secretarial support service to the Employers’ Side Whitley Council and advises employing authorities of the outcome of meetings in the Whitley Bulletin.

The Division monitors legislative developments to assess their impact upon personnel and human resource policy and develops appropriate responses. It is the arm of The Personnel Office which is responsible for reviewing and developing personnel and human resource policy and strategy for both the Civil Service and wider Public Service in consultation with public service employers and employee representatives.
