Scams – Too Good to be True? Stop, think and be sceptical
A scam is where people con you out of cash.
There are hundreds of types of scams – fake lotteries and prize draws, incredible schemes to make money quickly, fake investment plans, work from home schemes, fake but official looking invoices for payment - the list goes on and on.
The simple true is if it looks too good to be true it most probably is.
To find out more about scams read our leaflet “How to recognise a scam” or visit http://www.oft.gov.uk/oft_at_work/consumer_initiatives/scams/beating which will give you more information on individual scams.
