Who we are
The Isle of Man Data Protection Supervisor is responsible for the administration of the Data Protection Act 2002 (‘the Act’) and the Unsolicited Communications Regulations 2005 ("the Regulations") in the Isle of Man.
The Data Protection Supervisor is appointed by the Governor in Council for a five year tenure. The Supervisor appoints such officers as he considers appropriate to assist him in the exercise of his functions under the Act.
The Office of the Isle of Man Data Protection Supervisor ("Office"), while it is funded by the Treasury, is independent of the Isle of Man Government.
The Office has a staff of 4 - two full-time staff, the Data Protection Supervisor and the Deputy Data Protection Supervisor, and 2 part-time staff, all of whom are public servants.
