Surveillance camera systems - revised technical compliance guidance issued - O.D.P.S. Press Release
The Supervisor has replaced the existing guidance "CCTV and the Data Protection ACt 2002" with updated technical guidance, "Surveillance camera systems - complying with the Data Protection Act".
This guidance has been updated to reflect technological changes, and changes in the use of that technology. The aim of the guidance is to encourage the adoption of good practice standards by those who operate surveillance camera systems, assist in compliance with the requirements of the Data Protection Act 2002, and through such compliance promote the trust and confidence of the public in those operating such systems.
A copy of the updated technical guidance can be found in our document library and is available below for downloading free of charge.
