Land Seaward Of The Marine As a result of the conversion of the Old Douglas Head to Port Soderick tramway track into a motor road, the Isle of Man Highway Board was in a position to assist Manx National Heritage in the work of preserving as much as possible of the Island’s unspoiled coastline, by donating land seaward of the new road. This is a typical maritime heath, with heathers and gorse, important to nature conservation in the British Isles as a whole, since it is the home of the Grey Moth. | |
