Manx Farming and Country Life 1700-1900

The Manx Farming and Country Life pack demonstrates how the countryside has provided food, clothing, income and employment to many Manx people from 1700-1900. The pack has been designed to detail changes in traditional agricultural practices as a result of the Agricultural Revolution.

Teacher’s resource book;

Part one of the teacher’s resource book explores the importance of cultivation, livestock and the traditional farming calendars before 1780. Part two describes the changes brought about by the Agricultural Revolution, including tithes and potato riots.
