Manx National Collections Online
The Manx National Collections consist of objects and documents that help to illustrate the long and unique history of the Isle of Man. These collections and their care are at the heart of Manx National Heritage's work and they are preserved to enable present and future generations to learn about, and to learn from, the history of the Island.
Intriguing artefacts from the earliest times of human settlement are represented in the Archaeology Collections.
Tthe National Monuments Record contains information on evocative archaeological sites in the landscape.
Specimens from the magnificent natural environment are preserved in the Natural History Collection.
The Island's colourful recent history is the focus of the Social History Collection and the work of numerous talented Manx artists and inspirational Manx subjects are protected within the National Art Collection.
The National Library and Archives hold a treasure trove of documents relating to the Island's history and the people who helped create it.
Access to the Manx National Collections can be arranged for either academic research or purely for interest. As part of the ongoing programme of improving access, information about the Collections is being made available online. You can explore the Archaeology Collections and the Social History Collections, and search the TT Database for all the past winners of the ultimate motorcycle road races.
