Medals of Pte Faragher MM

Military Medal (MM) and campaign medals awarded to Pte William Faragher of St Marks, 1st battalion Loyal Regiment (North Lancs) for bravery in the field, Italy 1944. Pte Faragher returned under fire to rescue a fellow Manxman, serving in the same regiment, who had been wounded and was lying out in No Man’s Land. Manx soldiers have served with distinction in many regiments of the British Army, most notably the King’s (Liverpool) Regiment, and the Cheshire Regiment.
These medals are on display in the Manx Museum, Douglas.
