There are electricity overhead lines criss-crossing our Island. Often unnoticed, they are essential and provide electricity to towns, villages and rural communities in the Isle of Man. Contact with an overhead line can cause serious burns and electric shocks which can prove fatal. Even domestic voltages can be fatal, and high voltage electricity can jump large gaps. The following advice has been issued to raise awareness and is designed to prevent such accidents.
