Generating your own electricity

Renewable energy technologies like solar panels, wind turbines, are becoming increasingly popular.
The MEA have a Home Generation Tariff which applies to Domestic Customers who have installed equipment which enables them to generate their own electricity. The structure of the Tariff enables you to benefit from any surplus electricity generated and returned to the MEA Network.
The Tariff is restricted to Domestic customers connecting generation equipment with a capacity which cannot exceed 3.6 kW (16 amps) per phase.
