Financial Sanctions: Terrorist Financing

This news release is issued in respect of the restrictive measures directed against certain persons and entities with a view to combating terrorism.

The European Commission has amended Annex I to Council Regulation (EC) No 2580/2001 ("the 2001 Regulation") with effect from 14 March 2012.

The amendments reflect the removal of 14 individuals from the list provided for in Article 2(3) of the 2001 Regulation.

The individuals removed are therefore no longer subject to the asset freeze imposed under Article 2(1) of the 2001 Regulation.
