BOROUGH OF DOUGLAS (FANCY STREET) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) (No. 3) ORDER 2005

The Department gives notice that it intends to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit the use to vehicular traffic of that section of Fancy Street, Douglas, from its junction with Victoria Street to its junction with King Street.

The Order will come into effect from 6.00 a.m. on Friday 29th April 2005 and continue in force until 6.00 p.m. on Saturday 7th May 2005 or until the painting work is completed, whichever is the earlier.

A7 MAIN ROAD (BALLABEG) (ARBORY) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) (NO 2) ORDER 2005

The Department gives notice that it intends to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit the use to vehicular traffic of that section of the A7 Main Road, Ballabeg, Arbory between its junction with Friary Farm Estate and Arbory Cottage.

The Order will come into effect from 6.00 a.m. on Friday 29th April 2005 and continue in force until 6.00 p.m. on Thursday 26th May 2005 or until the IRIS work is completed, whichever is the earlier.

Access will be maintained to Friary Park at all times via the south side of its junction with the A7 Main Road.

Access will also be maintained to properties on Main Road, Ballabeg.

An alternative route for through traffic will be via the A28 Ballanorris Road and the A5 Shore Road.

STATION ROAD (PEEL) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2005

The Department gives notice that it intends to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit the use to vehicular traffic of that section of Station Road, Peel, between its junction with Patrick Street and its junction with Station Place.

The Order will come into effect from 9.00 a.m. on Thursday 28th April 2005 and continue in force until 1.00 p.m. on Thursday 28th April 2005 or until the crane work is completed, whichever is the earlier.

A3 BALLACRAINE TO KIRK MICHAEL ROAD (MICHAEL) (TEMPORARY IMPOSITION OF 20 MPH SPEED LIMIT) (NO 2) ORDER 2005

The Department gives notice that it has made an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily reduce the speed limit to 20 mph on that section of the A3 Ballacraine to Kirk Michael Road, Michael, between the property known as “Westwood” and the junction with the A4 Peel to Kirk Michael Road at Douglas Corner.

The Order comes into force from 8.00 a.m. on Thursday 28th April 2005 and continues in force until 6.00 p.m. on Friday 29th April 2005 or until the plane and overlay work is completed, whichever is the earlier.

A18 MOUNTAIN ROAD (MAUGHOLD) (TEMPORARY IMPOSITION OF 20 MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2005

The Department gives notice that it intends to make an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily reduce the speed limit to 20mph on that section of the A18 Mountain Road, in the Parish of Maughold, between the “Hairpin” and “Gooseneck” corners at “Tower Bends”.

The Order will come into force from 8.00 a.m. on Tuesday 3rd May 2005 and continue in force until 6.00 p.m. on Wednesday 4th May 2005 or until the plane and overlay work is completed, whichever is the earlier.

RAMSEY ORDERS

The Department gives notice that it intends to make the following Orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1985 and Highways Act 1985.

1. EAST STREET (RAMSEY) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIAN TRAFFIC) ORDER 2005. The effect of which will be to prohibit use to pedestrians of that section of East Street, Ramsey, between its junction with East Quay and its junction with Parliament Street. The order will come into effect at 5.30pm on Saturday 30th April and continue in force until 6.00pm on Wednesday 18th May 2005 or until the demolition work is completed. An alternative route for pedestrians will be via Christian Street, Ramsey.

2. PARLIAMENT STREET (RAMSEY) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2005. The effect of which will be to prohibit the use to vehicular traffic of that section of Parliament Street, Ramsey, from its junction with Tower Street to its junction with Christian Street. The order will come into effect at 5.30pm on Saturday 30th April and continue in force until 6.00pm on Wednesday 18th May 2005 or until the demolition work is completed. Access shall be maintained for deliveries between the hours of 8.00am to 10.00am and from 4.00pm to 6.00pm, Monday to Saturday from Christian Street. The one-way system in Parliament Street, between East Street and Christian Street, shall be suspended for the duration of this Order. An alternative route for vehicles will be via Tower Street and Christian Street.

3. PARLIAMENT STREET (RAMSEY) (TEMPORARY PROVISION OF TWO WAY TRAFFIC SYSTEM) ORDER 2005 The effect of which will be to provide a two way traffic system for delivery vehicles on Parliament Street, operating from its junction with East Street and Christian Street. The order will come into effect at 5.30pm on Saturday 30th April and continue in force until 6.00pm on Monday 16th May 2005 or until the demolition work is completed. Access shall be maintained for deliveries between the hours of 8.00am to 10.00am and from 4.00pm to 6.00pm, Monday to Saturday.

4. PARLIAMENT STREET (RAMSEY)(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIAN TRAFFIC) ORDER 2005. The effect of which will be to prohibit the use to pedestrian traffic of that section of Parliament Street, Ramsey, from its junction with Tower Street to its junction with East Street. The order will come into effect at 5.30pm on Saturday 30th April and continue in force until 8.00am on Tuesday 3rd May 2005 or until the demolition work is completed. An alternative route for pedestrians will be via Christian Street, East Quay, Market Square/East Quay.

5. TOWER STREET (RAMSEY)(TEMPORARY INTRODUCTION OF ONE-WAY TRAFFIC) ORDER 2005. The effect of which will be to introduce a temporary one-way system over that part of Tower Street, Ramsey and travelling in a southerly direction, between its junctions with Parliament Street and Water Street. The order will come into effect at 5.30pm on Saturday 30th April and continue in force until 6.00pm on Wednesday 18th May 2005 or until the demolition work is completed. An alternative route for vehicles will be via Water Street to Parliament Street.

A3 BALLACRAINE TO KIRK MICHAEL ROAD (MICHAEL) (TEMPORARY IMPOSITION OF 20 MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2005

The Department gives notice that it has made an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily reduce the speed limit to 20 mph on that section of the A3 Ballacraine to Kirk Michael Road, Michael, on the approach to Handley’s Corner between the 11th Milestone and its junction with the B10 Beinn-y-Phott Road at Barregarrow.

The Order comes into force from 8.00 a.m. on Tuesday 26th April 2005 and continues in force until 6.00 p.m. on Wednesday 27th April 2005 or until the plane and overlay work is completed, whichever is the earlier.

PARISH OF MALEW (BALLASALLA/BALLABEG ROAD AND CROSSAG ROAD) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING) (AMENDMENT) ORDER 2005

The Department gives notice that it proposes to make an Order under Section 1 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1985, the effect of which will be to impose no waiting restrictions on the entire length of the west side of the Ballasalla/Ballabeg Road (Main Road) (A7) from its junction with the A5 Douglas to Castletown Road at the Whitestone roundabout in Ballasalla to its junction with Bridge Road.

A draft copy of the Order with plan is available for inspection at the Department’s main reception desk on the ground floor at the Sea Terminal, Douglas, or the offices of Malew Commissioners, by any person, free of charge, during normal office hours on or before Friday 6th May 2005.

Any person wishing to make representations on or object to this proposal should do so by notice in writing to the Director of Highways, Department of Transport, Sea Terminal, Douglas, IM1 2RF, on or before Friday 6th May 2005.
