3rd October 2006 Transport Public Notices - 3 October 2006Douglas Orders The Department gives notice that it has made the following Orders under Section 1 and 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1985:-
1. BOROUGH OF DOUGLAS (TRAFFIC REGULATION) (AMENDMENT) (NO 14) ORDER 2006 – the effect of which will be on and from Wednesday 4 October 2006, to amend the no waiting restrictions on a section of Castle Mona Avenue, Douglas.
2. THE BOROUGH OF DOUGLAS ROAD TRAFFIC (RESTRICTION OF WAITING) (AMENDMENT) (NO 7) ORDER 2006 – the effect of which will be on and from Wednesday 4 October 2006, to introduce a further section of disc parking on Castle Mona Avenue, Douglas, adjacent to the Central Apartments.
The disc parking will be for a maximum period of 30 minutes between 8.00 a.m. and 6.00 p.m. Monday to Friday.
Residents parking permits will not be available.
Copies of the Orders are available for inspection at the Department’s Highways reception desk on the ground floor at the Sea Terminal, Douglas, or Douglas Corporation, Town Hall, Ridgeway Street, Douglas, by any person, free of charge, during normal office hours.
This advert supersedes that which appeared in the Isle of Man Examiner of 3 October 2006, which incorrectly referred to the Castle Apartments instead of Central Apartments.
BOROUGH OF DOUGLAS (CIRCULAR ROAD)
(TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF LOADING BAY) ORDER 2006
The Department gives notice that under Section 3 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1985 it has made an Order the effect of which is to suspend the loading bay situated on the northern side of Circular Road, Douglas, adjacent to its junction with Hillside Terrace.
The Order comes into force at 6.00am on Tuesday 10 October 2006 and continues in force until 6.00pm on Monday 23 October 2006 or until the glazing work is completed, whichever is the earlier.

This Order temporarily suspends a loading bay situated on the northern side of Circular Road, Douglas.
BOROUGH OF DOUGLAS (TYNWALD STREET LANE)
(TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2006
The Department gives notice that under Section 38 of the Highways Act 1986 it has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit the use to vehicular and pedestrian traffic of a section of Tynwald Street Lane, Douglas between its junction with Orry Street and the entrance to Westmoreland Court Car Park.
The Order comes into force at 6.00am on Monday 9 October 2006 and continues in force until 6.00pm on Thursday 30 November 2006 or until the resurfacing work is completed, whichever is the earlier.

This Order temporarily prohibits vehicular and pedestrian traffic from proceeding along a section of Tynwald Street Lane in the Borough of Douglas.
BOROUGH OF DOUGLAS (HILLSIDE TERRACE)
(TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF PARKING PLACES) ORDER 2006
The Department gives notice that under Section 3 of the Road Traffic Regulation Order 1985 it has made an Order the effect of which is to suspend parking on that section of the eastern side of Hillside Terrace, Douglas, from its junction with Circular Road to its junction with Cumberland Terrace.
The Order comes into force at 6.00am on Tuesday 10 October 2006 and continues in force until 6.00pm on Monday 23 October 2006 or until the glazing work is completed, whichever is the earlier.

(TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2006
The Department gives notice that under Section 38 of the Highways Act 1986 it has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit the use to pedestrian and vehicular traffic of a section of Breakwater Road, Port Erin from a point adjacent to the Coastguard Station to the Marine Biological Station.
The Order comes into force from 6.00am on Tuesday 10 October 2006 and continues in force until 6.00pm on Tuesday 14 November 2006 or until the demolition and asbestos removal work is completed whichever is the earlier.

This Order prohibits pedestrian and vehicular traffic from a section of Breakwater Road, Port Erin. RAAD NY FOILLAN (PORT ERIN/RUSHEN)
(TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2006
The Department gives notice that under Section 38 of the Highways Act 1986 it intends to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit the use to pedestrian traffic of a section of the Raad Ny Foillan, in the Village District of Port Erin and Parish of Rushen from the Marine Biological Station to the Sound Café.
The Order will come into force from 6.00am on Tuesday 17 October 2006 and continue in force until 6.00pm on Tuesday 14 November 2006 or until the demolition and asbestos removal work is completed whichever is the earlier.

This Order prohibits pedestrian and vehicular traffic from a section of the Raad ny Foillan in the Vilalge District of Port Erin and Parish of Rushen. GELLINGS AVENUE (PORT ST MARY)
(TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF PARKING PLACES) ORDER 2006
The Department gives notice that under Section 3 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1985 it has made an Order the effect of which is to suspend parking on the south eastern side of Gellings Avenue, Port St Mary between its junction with Cronk Road and the rear of the property known as Marina.
The Order comes into force at 6.00am on Tuesday 10 October 2006 and continues in force until 6.00pm on Tuesday 10 April 2007 or until the construction work is completed whichever is the earlier.

This Order temporarily suspends parking on a section of Gellings Avenue, Port St Mary.
UNNAMED LANE LIME STREET (PORT ST MARY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) (NO 2) ORDER 2006
The Department gives notice that under Section 3 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1985 it intends to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit the use to vehicular traffic of that section of the unnamed lane leading from Lime Street, Port St Mary to Port St Mary Harbour and adjacent to No 18 Lime Street.
The Order will come into effect from 6.00am on Saturday 14 October 2006 and continue in force until 6.00pm on Saturday 13 January 2007 or until the construction work is completed, whichever is the earlier.

An alternative route will be via the lane adjacent to Port St Mary Yacht Club.
This Order temporarily prohibits through traffic from proceeding on a section of the unnamed lane leading from Lime Street, Port St Mary to Port St Mary Harbour.
A24 FOXDALE ROAD (MAROWN)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2006
The Department gives notice that under Section 3 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1985, it has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit the use to vehicular traffic of that section of the A24 Foxdale Road, Marown, from a point approximately 10 metres east of Garth Crossroads to the entrance to Dreemlang Farm, approximately 500 metres west of Garth Crossroads, Marown.
The Order is in force between 9.00am and 5.00pm each day from Monday 9 October 2006 until Friday 20 October 2006 or until the plane and overlay work is completed, whichever is the earlier.
An alternative route will be via the Glen Darragh Road, Peel Road and A3 Ballacraine to Foxdale Road or via Glen Darragh Road and Peel to Douglas Road.
The effect of this Order is to temporarily prohibit through traffic from a section of the A24 Foxdale Road, Marown.
DERBY DRIVE (PEEL)
(TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF PARKING PLACES) ORDER 2006
The Department gives notice that under Section 3 of the Traffic Regulation Act 1985 it has made an Order the effect of which is to suspend parking on either side of that section of Derby Drive, Peel between its junction with Peveril Road and its junction with Cubbons Close.
The Order comes into force from 6.00am on Monday 9 October 2006 and continues in force until 6.00pm on Monday 23 October 2006 whilst sewer work is taking place.

This Order temporarily prohibits vehicles from parking on a section of Derby Drive, Peel.
PIPELINE TRACK (GLEN RUSHEN) (PATRICK)
(TEMPORARY CLOSURE) (NO 2) ORDER 2006
The Department gives notice that under Section 38 of the Highways Act 1986 it has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit the use to vehicular and pedestrian traffic of the Pipeline Track, Glen Rushen, Patrick from its junction with the A36 Shoulder Road at the Round Table to its junction with the Gate at the Pipeline.
The Order comes into force from 6.00am on Tuesday 10 October 2006 and continues in force until 6.00pm on Tuesday 10 April 2007 due to is dangerous condition.
This Order prohibits vehicles and pedestrians from the Pipeline Track, Glen Rushen.
A3 CASTLETOWN TO RAMSEY ROAD (MICHAEL)
(TEMPORARY IMPOSITION OF 20 MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2006
The Department gives notice that under Section 24 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1985, it has made an Order the effect of which will be to impose a 20mph speed limit on that section of the A3 Castletown to Ramsey Road, from a point approximately 40 metres southwest of the entrance to the property known as Ballig for a distance of approximately 200 metres in a northeasterly direction.
The Order comes into force at 6.00am on Monday 9 October 2006 and continues in force until 6.00pm on Friday 15 December 2006 or until the road drainage/plane and overlay work is completed, whichever is the earlier.
A 7.5 tonne weight limit will also be in force during this period from the junction with Ballig Bridge to Douglas Road Corner, Kirk Michael.
An alternative route will be via the A18 Mountain Road or the A2 Douglas to Ramsey Coast Road.
This Order imposes a 20mph speed limit on a section of the A3 Castletown to Ramsey Road in the Parish of Michael.
PLANTATION ROAD (BALLAUGH)
(TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2006
The Department gives notice that under Section 38 of the Highways Act 1986 it has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit the use to through pedestrian and vehicular traffic of a section of Ballaugh Plantation Road in the parish of Ballaugh, from the entrance to the plantation at grid reference 353918 to the opposite plantation boundary at grid reference 362908.
The Order comes into effect from 6.00am on Monday 9 October 2006 and continues in force until 6.00pm on Tuesday 31 October 2006 or until the timber extraction work is completed, whichever is the earlier.
An alternative route will be via the C37 Druidale Road, Ballaugh.
Access will be maintained for Emergency Vehicles at all times.

The effect of this order is to temporarily close a section of Ballaugh Plantation Road in the parish of Ballaugh to vehicular and pedestrian traffic.
