MANX FESTIVAL OF AVIATION, JURBY TRAFFIC ORDERS

The Department of Transport gives notice that by an Order made under the Highways Act 1986 the following roads will be closed to vehicular traffic between 9.00 a.m. and 6.00 p.m. on Saturday 6th August and Sunday 7th August 2005:-

1. A14 Ballamenagh Road from a point 100 metres north to a point 100 metres south of where it crosses runway 26/08 on Jurby Aerodrome.

2. B5 Ballavarran Road from a point 100 metres north to a point 100 metres south of an extended centreline of runway 26/08 on Jurby Aerodrome.

Under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1985 traffic will be required to travel in a north-easterly direction only on the A10 Jurby Coast Road from its junction with the B5 Ballavarran Road to its junction with the main entrance to Jurby Aerodrome between 10.30 a.m. and 3.00 p.m. on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th August 2005.

Also under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1985 traffic will be prohibited from parking on sections of the following roads in the vicinity of Jurby Aerodrome between 9.00 a.m. and 6.00 p.m. on Saturday 6th August and Sunday 7th August 2005.

B3 Jurby East Road

B4 Ballaheaney Road

A13 Ramsey to The Cronk Road

B5 Ballavarran Road

A10 Jurby Coast Road

A14 Ballamenagh Road

Offences against the Act or Orders render the offender liable to a penalty not exceeding £2500.

Copies of the Orders may be inspected at any Police Station or at the Department’s offices, Sea Terminal, Douglas.

THE HIGHWAYS CLOSURE (BIRCH GROVE, DOUGLAS) ORDER 2005

The Department gives notice that with the approval of Tynwald it has made an Order under Section 33(1) of the Highways Act 1986, the effect of which will be on and from Wednesday 27th July 2005, to extinguish as a highway part of Birch Grove, Douglas, to enable development to be carried out. A copy of the Order with plan is available for inspection at the Department’s main reception desk on the ground floor at the Sea Terminal, Douglas, or Douglas Corporation, Town Hall, Ridgeway Street, Douglas, by any person, free of charge, during normal office hours.

BOROUGH OF DOUGLAS (BANK HILL) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2005

The Department gives notice that it has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit the use to vehicular traffic of Bank Hill, Douglas from its junction with Peel Road/Lord Street to its junction with North Quay. The Order comes into effect from 8.00am on Thursday 28th July 2005 and continues in force until 6.00pm on Friday 30th September 2005 or until the road reconstruction work is completed, whichever is the earlier. The weight limit on Bank Hill will be suspended for the duration of this Order. An alternative route for traffic will be via Lord Street, Parade Street and North Quay, Douglas.

BOROUGH OF DOUGLAS (QUEENS AVENUE/QUEENS TERRACE) (PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2005

The Department gives notice that it intends to make an Order under Section 1 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1985 the effect of which will be to prohibit the use to vehicular traffic of Queens Avenue / Queens Terrace, Douglas at their junction with Hawarden Avenue. A draft copy of the Order with plan is available for inspection at the Department’s main reception desk on the ground floor at the Sea Terminal, Douglas, or Douglas Corporation, Town Hall, Ridgeway Street, Douglas, by any person, free of charge, during normal office hours, on or before Monday 8th August 2005. BOROUGH OF DOUGLAS (ONE-WAY STREETS) (AMENDMENT) (NO ) ORDER 2005

The Department gives notice that it intends to make an Order under Section 1 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1985 the effect of which will be to reverse the one-way traffic system on Queens Avenue and Queens Terrace, Douglas requiring traffic to travel in a north-westerly direction only on Queens Avenue and a south-easterly direction only on Queens Terrace.

BOROUGH OF DOUGLAS (VARIOUS ROADS) (RESERVED PARKING PLACES) (AMENDMENT) (NO ) ORDER 2005

The Department gives notice that it proposes to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1985, the effect of which will be to create reserved parking places in Douglas for vehicles displaying a permit, issued by the Department, on:

1. North side of Cambridge Terrace outside No. 2;

2. West side (landward) side of Loch Promenade outside of No 23 (relocated from east side);

3. South-west side of Victoria Avenue outside No. 29.

DISTRICT OF ONCHAN (VARIOUS ROADS) (RESERVED PARKING PLACES) (AMENDMENT) (NO ) ORDER 2005

The Department gives notice that it proposes to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1985, the effect of which will be to create reserved parking places for vehicles displaying a permit, issued by the Department, outside of No 49 Barrule Drive and opposite No 58 Nursery Avenue in Onchan. A draft copy of the Order with plan is available for inspection at the Department’s main reception desk on the ground floor at the Sea Terminal, Douglas, or Onchan Commissioners, by any person, free of charge, during normal office hours on or before Monday 8th August 2005. MALEW STREET (CASTLETOWN) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2005

The Department gives notice that it intends to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit the use to vehicular traffic of that section of Malew Street, Castletown, between its junction with The Crofts and its junction with Ellerslie Gardens. The Order will come into force from 7.30 a.m. on Sunday 31st July 2005 and continue in force until 4.00 p.m. on Sunday 31st July 2005 or until the chimney stack repair work is completed, whichever is the earlier. An alternative route for traffic will be via Arbory Road and Mill Street.

A2 LAXEY TO RAMSEY ROAD (LONAN/MAUGHOLD) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) (NO 2) ORDER 2005

The Department gives notice that it has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit the use to vehicular traffic of that section of the A2 Laxey to Ramsey Road between its junction with Minorca Hill/Ballaragh Road and its junction with Dhoon Glen/Ballaragh Road. The Order comes into effect from 6.00am on Monday 1 August 2005 and continues in force until 6.00pm on Monday 31 October 2005 or until the rock face work protection is completed, whichever is the earlier. An alternative route for traffic will be via Ballaragh Road.

B11 BALLARAGH ROAD (LAXEY) (TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF PARKING PLACES) ORDER 2005

The Department gives notice that it has made an Order the effect of which will be to suspend parking on either side of that section of the B11 Ballaragh Road, Laxey, between its junction with the A2 Laxey to Ramsey Road, northwards and then eastwards for a distance of 360 metres, and a point east of the property ‘King’s End’. The Order comes into force from 6.00 a.m. on Monday 1st August 2005 and continues in force until 6.00 p.m. on Monday 31st October 2005 or until the rock face work is completed, whichever is the earlier.

B11 BALLARAGH ROAD (LAXEY/LONAN/MAUGHOLD) (TEMPORARY IMPOSITION OF SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2005

The Department gives notice that it intends to make an Order the effect of which will be to impose a temporary 30 mph speed limit on that section of the B11 Ballaragh Road between its junction with the A2 Laxey to Ramsey Coast Road, at the Dhoon, and a point adjacent to the Ballaragh storage reservoir and also on that section of the B11 Ballaragh Road between its junction with the U21 Clarum Road and its junction with the A2 Laxey to Ramsey Road at Minorca crossroads. The Order will come into force from 6.00 a.m. on Monday 1st August 2005 and continue in force until 9.00 p.m. on Monday 31st October 2005 or until the Bulgham rock face work is completed, whichever is the earlier.

B11 BALLARAGH ROAD (LONAN) (TEMPORARY IMPOSITION OF SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2005

The Department gives notice that it intends to make an Order the effect of which will be to impose a temporary 20 mph speed limit on that section of the B11 Ballaragh Road, Lonan, between its junction with the U21 Clarum Road and a point adjacent to the Ballaragh storage reservoir. The Order will come into force from 6.00 a.m. on Monday 1st August 2005 and continue in force until 9.00 p.m. on Monday 31st October 2005 or until the Bulgham rock face work is completed, whichever is the earlier.

MILL ROAD (PEEL) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2005

The Department gives notice that it intends to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit the use to vehicular traffic of that section of Mill Road, Peel, between its junction with Station Place and its junction with the House of Mannanan’s car park. The Order will come into force from 6.00 a.m. on Tuesday 2nd August 2005 and continue in force until 6.00 p.m. on Monday 15th August 2005 or until the Manx Gas work is completed, whichever is the earlier. An alternative route for traffic will be via East Quay, Peel. The one-way system on East Quay between Station Place and the harbour slipway will be suspended for the duration of this Order.

BREAKWATER ROAD/SHORE ROAD/STRAND ROAD (PORT ERIN) (FILMING) (TEMPORARY INTERMITTENT TRAFFIC CONTROL) ORDER 2005

The Department gives notice that it has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit the use to vehicular and pedestrian traffic of the whole of Breakwater Road, Shore Road and Strand Road, between The Jetty and Athol Park, Port Erin. The Order comes into effect from 7.00 a.m. on Monday 25th July 2005 until 8.00 p.m. on Tuesday 26th July 2005 or until the filming work is completed, whichever is the earlier. Parking will be suspended on Shore Road and Strand Road for the duration or this Order. Access will be maintained for Emergency Vehicles at all times. Access to properties will be maintained except for periods when filming is actually taking place. A telephone helpline is available on 07977 988124.

SPALDRICK PROMENADE (PORT ERIN) (FILMING) (TEMPORARY INTERMITTENT TRAFFIC CONTROL) ORDER 2005

The Department gives notice that it has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit the use to vehicular traffic of Spaldrick Promenade, Port Erin, between its junction with Marina Lane and its junction with, but not including, Rowany Drive. The Order comes into effect from 7.00 a.m. on Monday 25th July 2005 until 8.00 p.m. on Tuesday 26th July 2005 or until the filming work is completed, whichever is the earlier. Parking will be suspended on either side of Spaldrick Promenade between its junction with Marina Lane and its junction with Rowany Drive. Access will be maintained for Emergency Vehicles at all times. Access for all vehicles will also be maintained except for periods of time when Filming is actually taking place.
