Pay vehicle tax on-line

The Department of Infrastructure is encouraging more people to use the on-line service to pay their vehicle duty since its successful introduction in November 2011.

David Cretney, Minister, said:

“There has been a good initial response to the new on-line payment service for vehicle duty. About 8% of licenses renewed in December were renewed on-line. I would encourage as many people as possible to try the new facility. An initial registration is required if you’ve never used Government on-line services before, but thereafter the procedure is straightforward.”

The on-line payment facility has been available since last November and if you are eligible to use the service the vehicle duty reminder will include a special code to facilitate on-line payment. Otherwise the vehicle license may be renewed by post or at a local Post Office in the usual manner.
