Insurance Intermediaries (General Business) (Amendment) Regulations 2012

The Insurance and Pensions Authority has released a consultation document in relation to amendments to the Insurance Intermediaries (General Business) Regulations 1999.

The draft regulations, which are attached to the consultation document, introduce a new exemption for certain licenceholders of the Financial Supervision Commission to be exempt from the requirement to register as an insurance intermediary with the Authority. They also introduce new submission timeframes for audited accounts and update the Authority’s requirements for professional indemnity insurance.
