3rd July 2009 Review of Government HR structureTHE Council of Ministers has agreed that there should be a comprehensive review of Human Resources functions across Government. The current personnel policy has been in place since 1990 and Council believes there is value in considering updating the policy to reflect the needs of Government in 2009.
The review will have a particular emphasis on the role of Council of Ministers in personnel matters. Terms of reference will be developed by the Chief Secretary’s Office, on behalf of Council, in due course.
It has also been agreed that due to the retirement of the current chief officer of The Personnel Office, the recruitment of a full-time replacement be deferred and a limited term appointment be made, until such time as Council has considered the findings of the review.
