11th August 2008 Chief Minister Announces Ministerial ChangesChief Minister Tony Brown has announced a change within his Ministerial team which takes effect from 2.00pm today (11 August 2008). Martyn Quayle MHK (Middle) moves from Home Affairs to Tourism and Leisure, replacing Adrian Earnshaw MHK (Onchan) who takes over at Home Affairs. In announcing the changes today the Chief Minister said that he had decided to make the move after reviewing his Ministerial team after their first 19 months of operation since he appointed them. The Chief Minister said the change would be beneficial to Government in that it would provide an opportunity to give wider experience to the two Ministers involved. Mr Brown said he was satisfied that his team of Ministers were working together well and that the team had developed and were acting cohesively in the best interests of the Island; he therefore did not seek to make any other changes to his Ministerial team. The Chief Minister stated he was pleased that Ministers Quayle and Earnshaw welcomed their new roles, the challenges and opportunities that lay ahead. |
