NEW CHIEF EXECUTIVE ANNOUNCED

The Insurance and Pensions Authority has announced that Dr Bill Hastings, its Chief Executive is to retire from office in March 2002 after some 15 years.

Making the announcement, Norman Radcliffe MLC, Chairman of the Authority, paid tribute to the contribution that Dr Hastings had made to the recognition of the Isle of Man as a well-regulated centre for financial services and to the development of the Island's insurance sector in particular.

Mr Radcliffe announced at the same time that Dr Hastings would be succeeded as the Authority's Chief Executive by David Vick. Mr Vick, 41, is presently the Authority's Deputy Chief Executive and has many years' experience with the Authority in a wide variety of areas. He is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute and a former President of the Insurance Institute of the Isle of Man. He is a Manxman and lives in Douglas.
